The hoop has been such a therapeutic tool for me as I journey through this separation/divorce; I decided to document a little bit of that with a hooping music video. A hooping video made up of 3 parts bright ass sun (totally didn't know the flare was THAT bright, yikes), 2 parts rocking out, and 1 part hooping, lol! I'm a work in progress and loving every minute of it. Slowly finding my flow inside of the hoop, which hasn't been easy with an extra 15lbs of divorce weight (not so distant relative to the "college 10" I presume, lol) that I'm not used to carrying around and grooving with. We might take the long way, but we're getting there ... this strong, beautiful, capable body and me; we're getting there <3
**again, that sun flare. I wanted a little flare; this monster, though ... yeeeouch, right? lol! My bad. I thought about redoing it, but that just wouldn't capture the same energy, sooo...

I thought people lost weight during a break up? lol I guess everyone's body reacts a little differently to a stressful situation..

DeleteMy marriage has been in trouble for a long while now (when one of the two comes home from iraq all kinds of changed and destructive, you're bound to have trouble). We've had several "divorce scares" in the past, and I've always lost weight during them. An unhealthy amount of weight. This is quite a different experience for me. I've stopped comfort eating myself into oblivion, but my body is still holding onto to this extra oomph. Suppose it will be released when it's damn good and ready ... like everything else in my life, lol.
I think you are beautiful and that hooping is inspiring. I so wish I was closer to other hoopers so I could learn more! I am really such a new one at this!!

DeleteIt would be nice to be closer to other hoopers. The only people I have hooped with are my ex, and my kids (and all the kids at whatever park we may be at. It's incredible ... throw down a pile of hoops and rnadom kids just appear! lol)
